We work with a private waiting list. Here you can find a registration form. The form will be sent to 't Olefantje automatically. You will receive a confirmation from us, and your child will be placed on the waiting list. For actual placement of your child, we will of course contact you. For more information about the placement opportunity or other questions about the registration, you can always call or email.
- We strive to place children as much as possible on the desired placement date. However, this depends on the available places.
- A placement is automatically terminated when your child turns 4 years.
- The playgroup is intended for children from 2 to 4 years.
- Places are not kept open.
- Siblings and children of day care 't Olefantje have priority on the waiting list.
- Changes and extensions of days are handled before new applications.
- Premature termination must take place in writing before the first or fifteenth of the month. This with due observance of a notice period of 1 calendar month.
Because we have a notice period of one month, the exact schedule of a certain month is only determined one month before.

Each parent receives a secure key to the front door, which can only be used by authorised persons (parents and staff) to enter the premises. Parents can enter the building at any time when we are open. For each key, a deposit of EUR 10 is required.
For the parents
We want to do everything we can to ensure that parents and children are content. So, feel free to express your concerns or any complaints to the teachers and/or managers. If you want to know how we deal with official complaints, you can find here our Complaints Procedure. Playgroup 't Olefantje is also affiliated with the Disputes Committee for Childcare.
Food, drinks and nappies are included, with the exception of special dietary foods. If your child has certain allergies, we ask you to pass this on to the teachers. At 't Olefantje, we encourage children to eat healthy and varied food. We like to experiment with nutrition, for example by offering them various seasonal fruit. We do not only offer food ready to eat, but we also show the children a pineapple as a whole, for example, and discover together what is edible and what is not, the colours and the smells, and finally the flavours. We consciously choose our products and pay attention to salt and sugar content. In all these ways, we try to encourage the children as much as possible to make healthy choices.
We do not eat sweets at the playgroup. Exceptions are public holidays and birthday treats. However, we do prefer a healthy treat. You can arrange this in consultation with the teachers.
We do not have sufficient capacity to take care of sick children. Sick children need extra attention and care, preferably that of their parents. We find a child sick when they are whining or feverish and clearly do not feel comfortable in the group. Playgroup 't Olefantje has its own Sickness Policy. Here you can find out exactly how we deal with children's illness. Of course, you can always call us to discuss it.
We assume that all children are vaccinated at the indicated times.
We have a beautiful, large courtyard garden where the children can play to their hearts’ content. The children love it and it is of course good for their motor development. We strive to go outside with the children in the summer, but also when it rains or snows, we like to play outdoors. We would therefore recommend that the children bring suitable outdoor clothing to 't Olefantje.
In order to follow the development of the children well, all children have a mentor in the group. This is one of the teachers who discusses the well-being and development of the children with the managers during our work meetings. If any particulars are identified, a plan is drawn up together with the managers to supervise a child's development for a certain period of time. For example, a child who is not eating well, a child who is not developing as fast as usual, or a child who has to get used to a new situation due to, for example, the birth of a new brother or sister. Parents are involved by the mentor or the manager. If necessary, in consultation with the parents, we engage third parties connected to 't Olefantje, or we refer the parents to them.
If the children go to school and/or after-school care or if they move to another day care or playgroup, for example, we also give the parents a transfer form.
We do not have sufficient capacity to take care of sick children. Sick children need extra attention and care, preferably that of their parents. When we are unable to give a sick child in the group the attention they deserve at that moment (given that we take care of several children at the same time), we ask parents to pick up their child. We will then always act to the benefit of the sick child. We consider a child sick when they are whining or feverish and clearly do not feel comfortable in the group. In case of contagious diseases (such as some childhood illnesses), your child may not visit the day care for the protection of the other children. Sometimes it is impossible to prevent infection.
Also, children who already have a fever in the morning (above 38 °C) are not allowed to visit the playgroup. Experience shows that in general, fever increases during the course of the day. You will be called when your child falls ill in the playgroup. We will keep a close eye on a child who has a high fever but still seems to be feeling well. We will then warn parents so that they can take into account that their child needs to be collected. That is why it is important that we always know where you can be reached during the day. If your child has a childhood illness, please inform the teachers so that we can inform other parents as well.
't Olefantje has its own Sickness Policy, which indicates exactly how we deal with the illness of children. This Sickness Policy can be found here. Of course, you can always call us to consult.
We assume that all children are vaccinated at the indicated times. If there are (medical) objections against the vaccination of the child, you should inform the management of the playgroup.
