Playgroup 't Olefantje opened on 1 November 2017. It is a private daycare centre, which is located in our monumental building at Nieuwegracht 30 and offers daycare in the morning hours during school weeks for toddlers from 2 to 4 years old. Playgroup 't Olefantje aims to provide childcare for children of parents who consider it important that their child comes into contact with other children, but who do not want to bring their child to the daycare centre for a whole day. Or for children of parents who want to work extra hours in the morning, or want to take extra time to go shopping, play sports or just enjoy some extra time to themselves.

Playgroup 't Olefantje offers parents and children a personal, warm and cosy environment. It is important to us that children can develop, grow and above all have a lot of fun. In addition, we think it is important that children get used to interacting with other children in a playful way, as a preparation for primary school. A child learns to consider the other children in the group. They get used to having rules and practises to take care of toys and materials themselves and, for example, to sit quietly in a circle and wait for their turn. We do this among other things by guiding the children in playing together and in group activities. Every morning, we organise various activities, such as games, singing songs, craft and cooking activities. The activities are focused on recognisable toddler themes such as: fairy tales, people, spring, holidays, etc. In addition to these activities, there is plenty of room for unstructured play.

The playgroup is so unique thanks to its large private outdoor playground adjacent to the building. The toddlers can enjoy themselves here. In addition, Park Lepelenburg is just a stone's throw away. Here we can also do fun games and activities with the children.

In addition to the playgroup, 't Olefantje also has an after-school care centre and a day care. The after-school care has two locations. One is located in the same building as the playgroup at Nieuwegracht 30. The other after-school care location and the day care are located in a monumental building at Nieuwegracht 49.
