Welcome!

Ole had a dream. A day care centre of her own.
That dream came true with 't Olefantje. And even more than that.
A fantastic day care centre where every child is unique, where professionals put their heart into their work, where the atmosphere is warm and personal and filled with 40 happy children and teachers every day. There is a personal connection with both the children and the parents.
After 16 years, Ole got new dreams and started looking for someone who could continue hers.
And that was me! I'm so lucky that I could take over 't Olefantje Weerdsingel.
Almost 13 years ago, I worked here during my study years as a permanent substitute. I was soon part of a very close team. After my studies in Educational Science, I worked in the children's hospital for years. I kept in touch with Ole. I never really let go of 't Olefantje.
In 2017, Ole asked me to become her manager. Easy answer to that question. Of course I did! It turned out to be the right choice and a year and a half later, on 1 January 2019, I took over Ole's baton.
Something I never thought possible, but my own dream began!
It actually went organically, because I too attach great importance to the personal atmosphere, a child-oriented approach and putting my heart and soul into the work!
Together with a great team of teachers, most of whom have been working here for years, I make sure that 't Olefantje is a cosy and loving day care facility.
If the kids feel good, so do we. And the other way around!
You are welcome to visit Day Care 't Olefantje, call in advance at 030-2714242 or send an email to info@olefantje.nl, so we can make sure that we have plenty of time to talk to you.

Baby - Movement - Development
During the first year, a baby learns an incredible amount. The development of movement in the first year of life forms the basis of the overall development. So how children develop emotionally, socially and spiritually is all related to how they move. Sensorimotor development plays an important role in this.
Each child is unique in discovering their own body and has their own pace. It is a challenge to be able to encourage the right things in a playful way. At Day Care 't Olefantje, we keep ourselves busy with this on a daily basis. We are regularly helped by Mirjam ten Brinke, movement development coach. Her background is: exercise therapy, haptonomy Child's space. She has been coming to 't Olefantje for a number of years to advise the teachers.
